2011 vinyl LP pressing. This is alternative rock band Yellowcard's first major-label album, and it does good in winning over the TRL crowd. The crunchy guitar licks, the emo lyrics, the tinny vocals-they're all perfected here. The 13 songs switch in mood and tempo, sometimes sad, often angsty, and always thriving on the basics of rock 'n' roll. They seem ready to give Dashboard Confessional a run for their money. Violinist Sean Mackin adds that extra magic to the band's already artful guitars and high-speed percussion, and the combined sound is fresh, original. It's a good collection with passion and heart. Give it a listen. Hopeless Records.
